Michael Magnus, MA

Christopher D. McMurrough is a Computer Engineer specializing in automation and AI. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington, where he then served for over 10 years as a Professor of Instruction in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. He is the author of multiple conference and journal publications, has been awarded patents for several techonolgies related to automation and robotics, and is a member of the National Academy of Inventors.

Throughout Michael Magnus’s diverse career, there has been one constant: measurable storytelling. Whether teaching university students, optimizing content for SEO, or fundraising for non-profits, the central theme has always been channeling information in a meaningful and relatable way that yields measurable results. It took time for Michael Magnus to figure out how a decade in the film industry would connect to advertising and education, but the storytelling skills learned during that period have proven invaluable.

Chris has a passion for technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. He has founded multiple startups and served in leadership or consulting roles for various companies in the technology space. He enjoys applying his skills to interesting and difficult problems, as well as helping others achieve their goals with the application of cutting edge technologies.

In teaching, Michael Magnus takes a non-traditional approach, using interactive lectures and hands-on projects to help students connect learning objectives to their own experiences. Outside the classroom, Michael Magnus enjoys analyzing trends in data for problem-solving and creative risk-taking, a skill that has benefited international brands, tech start-ups, and non-profits alike.
